As a reward for making our reading goals, our 4th graders ventured out to try out some tubing at Perkinstown. What a fun day!

Hi all,
I want to make sure my students have the materials they need to succeed, so I just created a DonorsChoose.org classroom request. Flexible Seating Give to my classroom within the next seven days and your donation will be double thanks to DonorsChoose.org. Just enter the code LIFTOFF during checkout and you'll be matched dollar for dollar (up to $50). In return, you'll get awesome photos of your gift in action and our heartfelt thanks. Thank you so much, Sadie P.S. If you know anyone who might be interested in supporting public schools, please feel pass this message along. As a way to finish up our hard work in our historical fiction unit, the kids were given an opportunity to show their learning in a way that best fit their learning style: a movie trailer, a diary, or a newspaper article.
The history fair was a lot of fun! Check out the pictures below and watch the movie trailers here: drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BxkUQETpqSCPZTI2czhsOXc1SnM?usp=sharing Take a look at this video posted by news channel 7 on flexible classrooms! I love the way our flexible classroom runs. I wouldn't go back to desks for anything! (and more importantly, neither would the kids!)
www.wsaw.com/content/news/No-more-rows-of-desks-399710571.html Wow! Who knew that flowers had so many important parts! We did a lot of learning while we cut apart and learned about the features of a flower. Check out the photos below!
The students had a blast exploring different ways to measure mass, volume, and length using the measurement system! Check out some photos below of their explorations!
We've been learning about all types of energy in Science lately! Most recently, we've zoomed in on electrical energy and how it works in our lives. Check out our videos of the experiment we did today where we created a lightbulb! Pretty cool! This year we had a school-wide door decorating contest! Be sure to check out all of the doors when you're here for our concert on Friday. Here is our door. We formed a door decorating committee, and the kids worked so hard to make our door beautiful. I'm very proud!
Before Thanksgiving break, we worked hard on learning about who the pilgrims were, what their significance is, and a bit of history about them. We tried some of their food and presented as if we were them. It was such a fun way to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday!
